BNBF Central 2010 Report
BNBF Central Championships 2010
Sponsored by Garnell
The penultimate qualifier of the 2010 season saw the BNBF march onwards to St Albans for the 8th annual rendition of the Central championships. For the 6th year running, the impresive Alban Arena would play host to what has traditionally been a very competitive qualifier. This year would be no exception and by the opening of pre-judging, 67 competitors were checked in, registered and raring to go.
Faced with the momentous task of placing these competitors were our panel of judges:Former British Champion Ann Gardner, BNBF Pro Annabel Ottey, BNBF Pro Dawn Roberts, BNBF Pro David Kaye, Natural Pro Vicky McCann and BNBF Pro Kerry Napier assuming the role of Head Judge. Dave O’Brien was the excellent MC for the evening show.
Figure
In 1st was Vicky Bradley. Great structure with a small waist and fabulous sweeping thighs. Vicky could have been slightly tighter in her glutes and hams but overall a great example of a figure competitor.
In 2nd was Hollie Walcott. Very well presented, Hollie has great broad shoulders and good quads and hams. Hollie should work on her calves and due to having a slightly broad waist, should work on back width.
3rd went to Roma Rudewics. Very neat shape with good presentation, however just needs a little more muscle all over to be more competitive.
In 4th was Michelle Mercer. Overall lovely balance from Michelle but like Roma could be slightly tighter and generally needs a little more muscle mass.
Rounding off the top 6 was Frances Heywood and Deb Francis
Teens
Taking 1st place was Owain Johns. Good condition with neat and balanced physique. Owain needs to work on his posing for the Britain.
In 2nd was James Wilson. A very muscular physique with strong shoulders and chest development. James just needs to improve his condition to grad that 1st place.
In 3rd was Patrick Owen. Fabulous upper body development with an incredible lat spread. Patrick really needs to work on presentation, including tan, trunks and posing.
In 4th was Callum Sullivan. Muscular but just too soft to be competitive on the day.
Juniors
In 1st was Ben Greenblatt. A very muscular junior with great overall balance. Ben needs to be harder for the finals though.
In 2nd Yasir Choudry. Muscular quads and arms from Yasir with impressive delts also. Again, conditioning now needs to be a priority for the Britain.
Taking 3rd was James Cumming. Great lat and pec development from James. Work still needs to be done on his legs in order to be more competitive.
In 4th was Callum McCauley. Good condition from Callum with strong arms and delts. Callum is quite long in the torso so needs to expand his back width to rectify this somewhat.
Rounding off the top 6 was William Ellis and Joe Pickett
Masters
In 1st was Henry Elsom. An impressive grainy muscular physique with excellent condition. Henry should now focus on improving his posing for the Britain.
In 2nd was Lazaro Almenares. An eye catching physique with stand out abdominals and great detail. Lazaro presents his upper body very well but needs to show his legs to the same degree.
In 3rd was Brian Stotter. Like Henry, Brian has great muscle maturity and thickness. Brian still needs to improve on condition to be more competitive at the Britain.
In 4th was Charlie McKee. Great to see Charlie back on stage and as always had great pecs and arms. Charlie was not quite in the condition he has been in in the past and still needs to bring up his legs.
Rounding off the top 6 was Nigel Bannister and Mike Dancer
Masters O’50
In 1st was Rick Waters. The best we have ever seen Rick with incredible condition and unbelievably detailed legs. Great showing from Rick and should aim to replicate this from, or better, for the Britain.
In 2nd was Jeff Lunn. Good condition from Jeff and sound overall balance. Jeff should work on posing for future outings.
In 3rd was David Brice. Detailed arms and shoulders but seemed to lack his usual leg conditioning. Like Jeff, work on posing for future outings.
Novice
In 1st was Andy Barker. Nice well balanced structure from Andy with superb conditioning. Andy should focus on presentation, particularly posing and tan.
In 2nd was Michael Chmiel. Muscular with a nice quad sweep and good shoulder width. Not quite as hard as the winner and also needs to work on his posing.
In 3rd was Laurent Lebran. Overall a nice balanced physique but just lacking in condition to place any higher.
In 4th was Andrew Fisher. Like Laurent, a well balanced and muscular physique but just not in the required condition to place higher.
Rounding off the top 6 was James Tantrum and Matt Askew
Lightweight Mr
In 1st was Graham McCann. Good condition fro Graham with sound overall balance. Nice shape to his legs but needs to improve on his conditioning here.
In 2nd was Stephen Bannan. A muscular upper half with good shoulder width. Stephen really needs to work on his posing, especially from the rear.
In 3rd was Ryzard Tokarczyk. A muscular and well balanced physique, just not quite tight enough to challenge for top honours today.
Middleweight Mr
In 1st place was Khaleed Al-Khateeb. A fabulous flowing physique with excellent muscle fullness. His arms in particular were most impressive. Lacking some detail in the glutes and hams and didn’t pose his legs as well as he could have. Khaleed should now focus on his posing for the Britain, especially from the rear.
In 2nd was Lawrence King. A muscular and balanced physique with no obvious weaknesses. Great conditioning and overall well presented. Lawrence should remember to lift up in his poses to reveal his physique fully,
In 3rd was Tshala Kabala. A very eye-catching upper body with a great structure. A little light in the legs and generally softer than we’ve seen him before.
In 4th was Carlos Barradas. Excellent condition with no glaring weaknesses. Needs to remember to pose his legs at all times and open his lats out more effectively.
Also competing : Seth McNeil
Heavyweight Mr
In 1st place was Shane Raymond. A very muscular competitor with particularly impressive chest and delt development. Shane’s condition was vastly improved from last year yet could still harden up in some areas, particularly in the glutes and hams. Posing should also be worked on for the Britain.
In 2nd was Rob Harris. Well balanced with no obvious weaknesses. Rob generally lacks the muscle mass and condition to be competitive with Shane.
In 3rd was Anthony Potts. Well conditioned and balanced with sound overall presentation. Anthony just needs more time in the gym to fill out his frame.
In 4th was Nick Openshaw. A better showing from Nick, with a wide back and muscular upper body. Nick just needs to bring up his legs in order to achieve more balance.
Rounding off the top 6 were Adam Hodder and Greg Hale
Miss Physique
In 1st was Anita Albrecht. The most muscular in the line up, Anita won this class convincingly. Anita really needs to focus now on improving condition to expose the true mass that she carries.
In 2nd was Michelle O’Brien. By far the most conditioned in the class, perhaps to the degree that she may have forfeited some muscle to achieve this. Michelle should work on her posing, particularly her lat spread for future outings.
In 3rd was Eve Day. Eve carries a lot of muscle but really needs to come in a lot tighter in order to expose her true shape. Great poses from the rear with the potential to win this class.
In 4th was Fiona McKenzie. Well balanced but really nees to bring her condition in tighter to be more competitive.
In 5th was Gemma Sarsfield
Best wheels : Rick Waters
Overall Mr
Khaled Al-Khateeb
As always the Central proves to be a very productive qualifier with some outstanding physiques that will be fighting for top honours at the British finals. On now to the last qualifier the Northern Championships in a weeks time in Manchester.
